In the spirit of tax season I hope you find a little humor in this week's nugget:

Intaxication: Euphoria at getting a refund from the IRS, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.

So are Californians who are going to get IOUs instead of refunds suffering from detaxification?

Awesome! I always wonder why people are so happy about tax refunds, I tell them to change their withholding and they look at me like I'm from another planet!

All: I too thought it was very funny, and sad at the same time. I know many people who think that a tax refund is some kind of bonus; it's like they don't get the connection.

Shtinkykat: I heard about that in the media. Is it definite? Not that I ever expected something like this to happen, but this is just one more reason why we should not give the government these interest free loans.

Miss M: I'm with you 100%. Some people definitely look at you like you've fallen off of the banana boat when you tell them that a tax refund is not necessarily a good thing. They see the refund as some sort of bonus from Uncle Sam.
